(BWR038) Stephen Philips - Somber Waves Of GrainMulti-talented musician Stephen Philips releases his first album on Blue Water Records, entitled Somber Waves of Grain. This is a deep excursion, with lots of dark ambience and things that go bump in the night, but don't be frightened. This is some of the best dark ambient we've heard in a long while. Give it a listen for yourself! |
(BWR035) Copal River - Copal RiverSometime a few years ago, Scott Turner and Darrell Burgan decided to take a weekend off, travel to a lovely retreat by the water, and spend a few days immersing themselves as deeply as possible in some live ambient improvisation. They called this their first "ambient weekend". While Scott and Darrell had worked on projects together before, this face to face improvisation struck a chord deep within each of them. The music that came from these sessions seemed to them to be the embodiment of what their ambient music was meant to be. In the months and years that followed, Darrell and Scott enjoyed several other such ambient weekends with each traveling to the others home state and studio. Naturally, they made a point to record these sessions, and later with encouragement from family and friends decided to release them. This first release is the result from one of those weekends. Darrell and Scott hope that you find this music as fulfilling to listen to as it was to make. |
(BWR016) Michael Sandler - Coyote FlutesCoyote Flutes is electronic music composer Michael Sandler's first release with Blue Water Records. Marking a departure from his Spartan minimalist guitar works, Coyote Flutes employs electronic synthesis to create a collection of songs that are texturally complex yet spacious in their structure. In Coyote Flutes, Sandler weaves abstractions, chimes, chills, and drones into an open and beautiful if sometimes unnerving or unfamiliar universe. |
(BWR014) Sonic - FormingCombining influences of ambient music and sci-fi imagery creating rich sonic soundscapes, this is an album of ambient sounds, with a mixture of real and unreal sounds that propel the listener to strange worlds and landscapes. |
(BWR013) Palancar - Diminishing LightWith Diminishing Light, Palancar unveils his newest and darkest pure ambient album to date. Sometimes reflective and thoughtful, other times dark and intense, but always moody and simmering with a barely-restrained energy, this is Palancar's dark ambient tour-de-force. Purists will be happy to know that no percussion and very little melody can be found anywhere in this album. But likewise, lovers of any good music will appreciate the structure and cohesiveness of the compositions. A great addition to the collection of any music lover. |
(BWR011) Wintermute - Life in the MachineOnce upon a time in the future, there was a land called Machine. This land was covered by many parts and pieces of a very very vast machine. At the heart of this machine was a mind and heart created by humans long gone destroyed by the machine. In their stead is a new nameless race of human like beings. They are created by the machine to serve it. It is their God. These beings were created mostly without emotion and have the knowledge of the machine; they are an extension of it. Without compassion, they are barely still human, but they are organic and organic beings tend to evolve. To the machine, the nameless race was no different than any of its other parts, so it named them thus. JZ-0735 was one of those parts, JZ-0735 was about to evolve ... |
